Health and Safety

The health and safety of its workers and contractors are very important to KB Petroleum LLP, and we work hard to create a proactive culture of health and safety within the business. QHSE procedures and training are strict and subject to international standards. Activities carried out by KB Petroleum LLP have the potential to cause numerous injuries. Employees of KB Petroleum LLP and one of the contractors in Kazakhstan experienced two (two) lost time incidents in 2021. Every incident was investigated, the reasons behind them identified, and corrective action plans were created in compliance with our HSE procedures.

HSE Leadership, Communication and Awareness

All Contract Owners and C&P received the Contractor HSE Performance Procedure in 2020. Additionally, HSE Posters were printed and displayed in conspicuous places, and daily pop-up windows featuring safety alerts from the QHSE department arose when they logged in. Monthly QHSE Reports are prepared and distributed to all company personnel as a means of informing them about HSE Performance. Many steps were taken in the company to prevent COVID-19, including the following actions: decreased office occupancy for remote mode in accordance with recommendations from sanitary authorities thermometry every day before work begins Pre-shift PCR and express testing are provided to all employees who work on a rotating basis. All necessary PPE and protective coveralls are supplied to medical staff. All staff members receive masks, gloves, and antiseptics.

HSE Rules

The 2020 safety campaign was extended in 2021 after it started in 2020. Based on an analysis of incident statistics and worldwide best practices in the oil and gas sector, our Rules set forth the fundamental safety requirements of KB Petroleum LLP. The Hazard Identification Program has been fully embraced by Contractors and KB Petroleum LLP. Through this program, any employee can report hazardous working conditions, provide feedback on appropriate or inappropriate staff behavior, and make recommendations for improving HSE.

The right type of maintenance strategy is chosen based on the impact of equipment failure on related risk rather than the criticality of the equipment. Key systems can be reported on and maintenance can be prioritized in the event of a resource shortage. Devices, machinery, or systems that are required to maintain process conditions within safe operating bounds or whose goal is to prevent the process from failing are known as safety critical elements.
